We started Graincraft in a rented unit in Kirkstall with a table saw and not much else. Over twenty years later we have got a proper workshop, a small team, and a long list of kitchens, staircases, and wardrobes across Leeds that we are genuinely proud of.
We do everything ourselves. We design it, we build it in our workshop, and we come and fit it. No subcontractors, no middlemen. If something is not right, we fix it. That is how it has always worked.

What we build
Every piece built to your specification
We do not work from catalogues. It starts with a chat about what you want, we come and measure up, and then we design something that actually fits your space.
Handmade fitted kitchens built around your space
Our kitchens are built from solid timber frames with dovetailed drawer boxes, soft-close hinges, and hand-painted finishes. We sort everything out from the initial design through to fitting the worktops and plumbing in the sink. Every kitchen is different because every room is different.
Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes that fit your room exactly
We build fitted wardrobes that use every bit of space you have got. Sliding doors, hinged doors, drawers, shoe racks, hanging rails, shelving, whatever you need inside. We fit them into alcoves, across chimney breasts, or wall-to-wall in any bedroom.
Custom staircases in oak, ash, or softwood
Traditional turned spindles or contemporary open-tread, we build both. We can replace your existing staircase, build a new one for an extension or loft conversion, or refurbish what you have already got. All building regs compliant.
Built-in solutions for every room
Alcove units, bookcases, window seats, under-stair storage, and media walls. If you have got an awkward space that nothing off the shelf fits, that is exactly what we are here for. Everything is made to measure and fitted properly.
Bespoke doors, frames, and sash windows
We make internal and external doors to any size, including odd openings and older properties. Our sash windows and casements are built properly using traditional methods but with modern draught-proofing. If you need it to match your existing joinery, we can do that.
Bar fit-outs, reception desks, and retail joinery
We do commercial work too. Bar counters and back fittings, reception desks, restaurant seating, retail display units. We are happy to work around your opening hours and can fit out of hours if that is easier.
